Ontario Antimicrobial Stewardship Program Landscape Survey - The results are in!
In 2016, Public Health Ontario (PHO) invited hospitals to complete a survey as part of the Ontario Antimicrobial Stewardship Program (ASP) Landscape Initiative. This voluntary initiative aimed at providing an understanding of how the landscape of antimicrobial stewardship in Ontario hospitals has evolved since it became an Accreditation Canada Required Organizational Practice in 2013 and opportunities for further advancing antimicrobial stewardship across the province. Survey respondents were asked questions about their organization’s ASP including structural elements of their program and strategic elements (“strategies”) that have been implemented. In this presentation, speakers will share the key results of the survey, including a focus on regional results.
Valerie is the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program Lead at PHO. She has experience in developing and evaluating an antimicrobial stewardship program at a community teaching hospital and is interested in advancing antimicrobial stewardship from a systems perspective.
Bradley is a Pharmacist Consultant in the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program at PHO. He has experience building a successful antimicrobial stewardship program at a community teaching hospital and is active on social media engaging clinicians and the general public in dialogue about antimicrobial stewardship.
Julie is a research coordinator in IPAC Research. Before joining PHO, Julie worked for the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute and the Cochrane Effective Practice and Organisation of Care (EPOC) Group. She has experience in conducting Cochrane Systematic Reviews.
